Irina Ciornei

Irina Ciornei (PhD, Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, 2014) is an EU Marie-Curie Fellow (2019-2022) and is affiliated to the IBEI. Formerly Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Bern (2014-2019). Her main research interests are related to social transformation in the European Union.  In particular, her work examines cross-border mobility and the transnationalization of political practices and institutions.  Her more recent work focuses on transnational solidarity, emigrant politics and morality policy issues.  Her work has been published in Journal of Common Market Studies, Party Politics, and West European Politics.
